‘EA Sports FC 25’ – The world’s biggest football game formerly under the ‘Fifa’ license is making its 2nd comeback under the ‘FC’ title. And yes, this time it comes back even better than last year. Last year was filled with issues and couldn’t justify itself being a separate football game compared to FIFA 23. But FC 25 has a lot of things it has done right for consumers to take part in what’s next for FC’s football adventure.
Published and Created by EA, the game was released on September 27, and 7 days earlier for ultimate edition owners. We waited just a little extra to see the first reaction, the performance of FUT, and if the game would receive a first patch right within a few days of release. But to our surprise, it all worked out quite well. Here’s our official review of FC 25 at Gameffine.

Loudest Kick-off Ever
From keeping the legacy of having one of the most fire playlists of music to an even cleaner UI, giving you the feel of playing truly the most premium format of football in video games, you are definitely in for an amazing time with FC 25.
It however still blows my mind, why does the the UI and menu screen work at 24 FPS while having the power to go 60FPS? It throws me off even more that if you press the “UP” direction key in a listed menu, instead of going to the bottom option, it simply does nothing. I know these are some minor issues, but definitely pop out annoyingly when you just want to navigate into your game faster.

The core gameplay still remains authentic and does have its own improvements. While there are many players who still report the game to be broken, I didn’t have to face any issues or bugs in my entire 30 hours of playthrough. More importantly, the FC IQ has stolen my heart. The way it brings authenticity and personality to my teammates is truly legendary. While it does create a big gap in teams with a generic goalkeeper and some renowned goalkeeper attempting saves of a lifetime, I am no one to complain if it works in my favour. Best of all, my AI teammates are now being careful about crossing the offside line no matter how fast I push forward.
I am all about the experience before the technicality of the game. The loud authentic sound of the fans in sync with the actions of the entire game just not limited to goal attempts truly brings out the goosebumps. The commentary of Derek Rae remains quite the same, and maybe it is about time for a fresh approach. This sparked my mind only because of the hilarious and powerful commentary of the newly introduced – FC Rush.

The Rush of a Lifetime
When Volta was introduced long back, I was blown away. It was the most authentic form of a street style of football. Playing a formal 11v11 was a privilege IRL, but Volta was just amazing and felt like a symphony that let me only focus on my attacks. But the hype eventually died out when it became repetitive especially when the campaign from the first time around didn’t go ahead.

Well here are now. In the world of competitive games featuring 5v5 as the standard, you can do it in FC too. FC Rush is the newest approach of a shorter form of the original football experience, but stays exactly balanced with attacks and defence, but much faster. From outrageously fast development inside the game to some crazy defences being put up, I truly believe FC Rush can be a game-changer this year. It may well even be pushed forward in authentic competitive forms as well if done right.
The cherry on the top is the commentary of Rush. Inspired by Volta, it is authentic, yet hilarious. You will be roasted in case you miss shots, and be called out that people don’t even miss shots like these in a video game.

Verdict
FC 25 is a game changer that may look the same on the top but will provide everyone with an interesting approach this time around. For all FUT players, the FC IQ will be a game-changer. For all casual players, the Rush mode will be a fresh venture. But overall, the graphics and experience still push on to be a truly next-gen football game that is authentic in and out. It’s all the same, but better this time around.
