Bethesda has officially announced what you require to run its action-adventure open world RPG Fallout 4. The game looks ‘OK’ in comparison to titles like the Witcher 3 but still looks decently upgraded from Fallout New Vegas. So let’s get down to the system requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

INTEL CPU-Core i5-2300 2.8GHz
AMD CPU-Phenom II X4 945
Nvidia GPU- GeForce GTX 550 Ti
AMD GPU- Radeon HD 7870
RAM- 8 GB
OS- Win 7 64
Direct X- DX 11
HDD Space- 30 GB

The minimum requirements are very exceedingly standard for a AAA game of 2015, but do not feel worth it, when its graphical fidelity is looked at. Many PC gamers have shown scorn because Fallout is reputed as one of the few games that does not require much hardware and can run on practically any computer, but looks like Bethesda has upped the ante this time around. The minimum processor requirement is an i5 but according to me it will run just fine on any i3 above 2nd gen. The RAM also I think is demanding, but I guess that with such a huge open world, RAM has been appropriately allotted. Coming to the main part, the GPU, we know that an AMD 7870 is much more powerful than a Nvidia GTX 550Ti, but they have listed both as a minimum requirement. In my opinion, if you don’t play at 1080p and go for 900p, which does not make much of a difference, you’ll be fine with just any card with a DDR5 type memory like the AMD HD 7770 or Nvidia GTX 470.

INTEL CPU-Core i7-4790 4-Core 3.6GHz
AMD CPU- FX-9590
Nvidia GPU- GeForce GTX 780
AMD GPU- Radeon R9 290X
RAM- 8 GB
OS- Win 7 64
Direct X- DX 11
HDD Space- 30 GB

This was not expected at all. Such beefy requirements are what it takes The Witcher 3 to play at max settings. Gamers have almost come to the verge of hatred because of this. An i7 should actually be an overkill for such a game yet, it stands right there staring me in the eye. Maybe Bethesda has released such high Recommended Requirements keeping the mods in mind, but still it simply doesn’t add up. The GTX 780 and R9 290X are some of the top performers in the gaming industry and are just second to the best. The visual mods may increase the graphics of the game but as of right now the hefty requirements are not justified.

Talking about storage, Bethesda has taken 30 GB which is very standardized, considering there will be mods which will take up another 10 or so GB.

So? What do you think about the system requirements of Fallout 4? Do you agree to the fact that the system requirements are a bit off or do you think that it’s all right? Let us know in comments below.
