So finally, almost a week and a half away from it’s release, Dishonored 2’s system requirements have been revealed. Though the requirements do not break the trend of the current slew of games coming out, we have a look at it and speculate what kind of PC would be able to run it if you do not:
Minimum Requirements:
- OS: Windows 7/8/10 (64-bit versions)
- Processor: Intel Core i5-2400/AMD FX-8320 or better
- Memory: 8 GB RAM
- GPU: Nvidia GTX 660 2 GB/AMD Radeon HD 7970 3 GB or better
- Storage: 60 GB
The minimum CPU requirement is not much and if you have a 4th gen i3 or above, you will be getting away without much effect on fps. As for the RAM, 8GB is quite standard these days, but if you have 4 GB or 6 GB, you’ll probably get away with minor hiccups. Coming to the part that most people care about, the GPU and I’m actually surprised at the requirements from the green side compared to the red side. I mean back in the day, the HD 7970 was more in contention with the GTX 670 if benchmarks and are anything to go by and the GTX 670 was a much more powerful card than a GTX 660. Also the recommended quantity of VRAM on the AMD side is 3 GB which is surprising. I hope it’s a good port for the AMD cards due to the game having Nvidia specific softwares as well.
Recommended:
- OS: Windows 10 (64-bit versions)
- Processor: Intel Core i7-4770/AMD FX-8350 or better
- Memory: 16 GB RAM
- GPU: Nvidia GTX 1060 6 GB/AMD Radeon RX 480 8 GB or better
- Storage: 60 GB
The recommended requirements are not all that surprising, with an i7-4770 specified. Ithink you would be able to get away with any mid-high end i5. As for the RAM as well, 8 GB will be good enough. The GPU though, if a GTX 1060 6 GB can get the game running on Ultra without some of those performance hogging Nvidia Gameworks, I think a GTX 970 or GTX 780 will do just fine for 1080p Ultra settings. As for the AMD side of things, R9 290 or RX 480 will do just fine.
