Dark Light

During its storied history, Blizzard Entertainment has created some of the world’s most critically acclaimed games. Blizzard’s rich universes are home to millions of players around the world who engage in raging battles, embark on epic adventures, and accumulate a wealth of digital treasures and wondrous experiences with each other online daily.

And now Blizzard games are coming to India, thanks to e-xpress

What does that mean?

This means that you will now be able to pick up a physical copy of Overwatch officially in India. Up until now your only option was either digital or unofficial third party re-sellers like Flipkart and Amazon. E-xpress Interactive will now bring these games to not only its online store, but also to physical stores such as Croma, Landmark, Games The Shop retail stores and such.

What games does it include?

Well, Blizzard has quite a house of trumps when it comes to games. Apart from the international phenomenon Overwatch, Blizzard also bring Diablo 3, Starcraft 2, Warcraft 3 and World Of Warcraft to the table. That is a stellar list whichever way you look at it.

Commenting on the partnership, Amit Khemani, Managing Director of e-xpress Interactive software Pvt Ltd, said, “We are thrilled to be working with Blizzard Entertainment. Blizzard’s reputation for creating quality games is widely known in India, and this announcement will bring great joy amongst the Indian gaming community. We highly admire Blizzard’s talent, passion and commitment to create such award-winning games, and we are committed to driving the success of their games in India.”

Gio Hunt, executive vice president of corporate operations at Blizzard Entertainment. was also chimed in saying, “We’re pleased to be working with e-xpress Interactive to bring our games to India. We pour a lot of ourselves into the experiences we create, so it’s important to us to be able to share them with the widest possible audience. We’re excited that this collaboration directly supports that goal and helps us welcome more Indian players into the global Blizzard community.”

Does this mean there will be a decrease in prices now that Blizzard has a distributor here in India. While its possible, it is doubtful. What it will mean however that the availability of Blizzard games will increase exponentially when it comes to retail copies.

What do you think of this new partnership? Do you see any pros or cons that we don’t. Let us know all that and more in the comments.
