Bohemia Interactive has announced that their military simulator Arma III has sold four million copies worldwide and in order to celebrate it, it will host a free weekend for it on Steam. The Free Weekend starts on April 26 at 19:00 CEST (all time zones) and ends on April 30 at 19:00 CEST, and it will give steam users a chance to try out the base version of Arma III.

Arma III is a realistic military simulator sporting an impressive sandbox to take part in strategic first person combat. Players have access to a wide variety of gear and weapons and are able to operate all sorts of military vehicles such as tanks, helicopters, and jets. The game also features multiple single player and multiplayer modes, including a  story campaign. Arma 3 fully supports mods and its Steam Workshop already hosts 50,000+ modifications, ranging from weapons, vehicles, new gameplay features and  multiplayer modes such as the original PLAYERUNKNOWN’s Battle Royale.

Arma III has come a long way since the initial alpha release on Steam Early Access in 2013 by introducing lots of additional content, new features, and improvements. The game has received 75 free platform updates and 10 DLC packs and still maintains a sizable playerbase.
