Dark Light

Absolver is one of my most anticipated games of the year right behind Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice because it looks something new and creative. An added bonus is that it is being published by Devolver Digital who also published games like Shadow Warrior 2. Today the system requirements for the game have been updated as follows:

MINIMUM:

    • OS: Windows 7/8/8.1/10 x64
    • Processor: Intel Core i7-950 (4 * 3000) or equivalent / AMD FX-4350 (4 * 4200) or equivalent
    • Memory: 5 GB RAM
    • Graphics: GeForce GTX 480 (1536 MB) / Radeon R9 270X (2048 MB) or better
    • Storage: 11 GB available space

As expected from an indie game, the requirements aren’t very high. Every part is about 6-8 years old at this point and any modern PC will run this game like a charm. An i7 1st gen can easily be surpassed by modern i5s and the GTX 480 is equivalent to probably something like the GTX 650, so anything more than that will run the game just fine. As for mobile GPUs, I do think a GT 840M or GT 940M should be able to run  it. 5 GB RAM and 11 GB HDD are below standard when compared to games this gen.

RECOMMENDED:

    • OS: Windows 7/8/8.1/10 x64
    • Processor: Intel Core i5-6600K (4*3500) or equivalent / AMD FX-8320 (8 * 3500) or equivalent
    • Memory: 8 GB RAM
    • Graphics: GeForce GTX 960 (4096 MB) / Radeon R9 380 (2048 MB) or better
    • Storage: 11 GB available space

Even the recommended system requirements aren’t beefy with i5-6600k and a GTX 960 being required where most AAA games require an i7 and GTX 970/GTX 1060.
