VARSAV Game Studios has announced that BARKOUR, its action platformer starring a highly trained canine agent, will launch in Q4 2026 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.The studio marked the announcement with a new story trailer, giving players a closer look at Agent T.H.U.N.D.E.R. and the mission at the center of the game. While earlier footage focused more on parkour, stealth, combat, and gadgets, the latest trailer puts more attention on the game’s characters and story.
T.H.U.N.D.E.R. is still very much a dog despite being trained as a secret agent. A special device translates his thoughts into human language, while his personality is shown through his reactions and behavior as he gets pulled into increasingly strange situations.The game is being built as a single-player action platformer with stealth elements. VARSAV says the full experience will offer around 15 to 18 hours of gameplay across different worlds and missions, mixing combat and movement with a more lighthearted story.
Players will also get a chance to try a substantially updated version of the BARKOUR demo during Gamescom 2026. The new demo is scheduled to go live next week and will include changes to gameplay, presentation, content, and overall polish. Those attending Gamescom can try the game at the HOME of INDIES booth in Hall 10.2, stand E-19. After four years of development, BARKOUR is now set for release in Q4 2026. The game will be available on PC through Steam and the Epic Games Store, as well as PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
