OPNeon Games announced that the viral hit TCG Card Shop Simulator introduces tournaments in a brand-new update launching March 19 across Steam, Xbox Game Preview, and Xbox Game Pass. The update transforms your humble in-game card shop into a competitive arena, where NPC customers battle it out for card-slinging glory.
Since its Early Access debut, the game has sold over 3 million copies, drawing players in with the thrill of cracking packs and the hustle of running a card business. With the Tournament Update now live, TCG Card Shop Simulator is steadily moving toward its full 1.0 release, with more details expected soon.
To mark the update and the upcoming 1.0 announcement, the game is available at a discounted price of $10.39—20% off—during the Steam Spring Sale from 10 AM PT on March 19 through March 26.
Using the newly added Tournament app on the in-game phone, players can manage every aspect of their event. This includes selecting the tournament size—ranging from small 8-player brackets to larger 32-player competitions—as well as setting the entry fee, allowing for anything from casual community events to high-stakes showdowns.
Players can also assign specific play tables for matches or use an auto-assignment option for convenience. The Tournament Prize Shelf plays a central role, as owners can stock it with cards or products from their inventory, which then become the official rewards for top finishers, including 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and Top 8 placements.
Participation is influenced by both the entry fee and the desirability of the prizes. Once all slots are filled, the tournament begins the following day. NPC participants automatically take their places at designated tables, competing across multiple rounds. Winners then celebrate their victories in front of the Prize Shelf, creating a satisfying sense of progression for the player as a shop owner.
It’s important to note that this update does not introduce multiplayer functionality; instead, it expands how NPC customers interact with your store through the new tournament system.

The update also adds a simple Camera mode to your in-game phone. Snap pictures of your triumphant champions, show off your perfectly stocked prize shelf, or document your shop’s growth. All your snapshots are saved to an in-game gallery, letting you build a portfolio of your store’s legendary moments.
