Bite! Rip! Rise! Get Stupid! Demo for Stupid Never Dies is Now Available to Play
The First Demo for the Action-RPG from Veteran Developers GPTRACK50 Offers a Look at the First Two Hours of Gameplay, Available Now on Steam and PlayStation® 5
Can an underdog actually save the world from the apocalypse? Well, today, you’ll get to find out as GPTRACK50, a studio founded by veteran action game developers, and publisher SEGA, have just dropped a demo for their upcoming pop-punk action-RPG Stupid Never Dies.
The Stupid Never Dies: First Bite Demo, announced during today’s PlayStation® State of Play Showcase, is available starting today on PlayStation® 5 and Steam. Accompanying the announcement, the team premiered their third trailer which introduced more characters from the game.
Take on the role of Davy, a pathetic, lovestruck zombie, and the lowest of the low in a world overrun by powerful monsters, and descend into the depths, gaining powers with each dive, as you race to defeat KOM (the King of Monsters) and save the world – and the woman he loves.
With this first demo for Stupid Never Dies, you’ll get to experience the first two hours of the game ahead of launch, complete with the introductory cutscene and the game’s signature “Blazing Fast Growth” action-packed gameplay. You’ll get an introduction to the main “Funky Zombie Action” mechanics that power the game:
- Style Eat: Devour your enemies to steal their powers! By consuming an enemy’s core, Davy can steal their abilities, changing his appearance and unleashing a whole new level of strength and skill.
- Body Hack: Collect powerful Over-Technology (OT) dropped by monsters and visit Acelino, who can create enhanced weapons to give Davy’s left arm, right arm, head, and legs incredible upgrades.
- Davy Burst: A full stat power surge, unleash Davy’s ultimate power by generating his burst meter through repeated attacks. Once certain conditions are met, Davy’s imagination overwhelms the visuals of the real world, dramatically boosting all abilities!
You’ll also get to experience two of the bosses Davy will encounter in the game:
- Afreet: Said to have proven their loyalty to the ultimate boss, KOM (King Of Monsters), by drinking the flames of hell itself, afreets now burn with internal heat that fuels them endlessly. Their fearlessness has earned them high ranks and access to cutting-edge OT, such as an enhanced gravity control system that torments foes and even doubles as an exercise machine.
- Phoenix Zaza Hotfeathers: Is he a friend? Is he a foe? Who knows! His grand cosmic duty is to discharge the waste generated by mother earth Gaia’s metabolism; his vibe is someone who couldn’t care less about anything. Maybe because next to Gaia’s vastness, individual worries seem too tiny. Or maybe he’s just stupid.
As an added bonus, anyone who plays the demo while it’s available will be able to carry over their save data to continue their progress after purchasing the game at launch. Defeating the entity determined to bring about a literal apocalypse is definitely hard, but, hey – getting a bit of a head start certainly helps!
Can Julia Be Brought Back to Life? Powerful New Enemies Revealed in the Third Trailer
Making its worldwide debut during today’s State of Play, this third trailer from GPTRACK50 introduces several characters for the first time, including the Four Generals who serve KOM.
Everent, the Sage Who Hears the Voice of Gaia: A member of a race that has lived alongside Gaia since time immemorial, hearing Gaia’s voice and wielding nature according to its will. Alarmed by the worsening environmental destruction caused by humans, they understand KOM’s concerns about humanity, but believe his methods go against Gaia’s will. After refusing to join him, they were cursed by Takiyasha-Hime. They claim to be the “greatest mind in Gaia’s history” and get surprisingly worked up if anyone says otherwise.
The Four Generals of KOM
Surtr R.S.: A battle-driven maniac who lives for deadly fights. Having trusted in nothing but his own strength, his first-ever defeat came at the hands of KOM. Awed by KOM’s overwhelming power, he swore his loyalty. During the war against humanity, he fought with the strength of tens of thousands. He believes the strong are superior and despises the weak, especially zombies, whom he sees as neither human nor monster. Zombies, in turn, think he’s a meathead.
Dragul: One of the oldest monsters alive. Known as “the Impaler” for his cruelty, he joined KOM on the condition that his clan would one day live beneath the sun. Nearly immortal, he continues to search for someone capable of killing him, but even the war against humanity failed to grant his wish. A legendary superstar of the monster world, he is rumored to have his own fan club — though while he never ages, his fans certainly do.
Takiyasha-Hime: Cursed and controlled like a puppet by her own father, she became captivated by KOM after he killed him and took his place as her new father figure. She is pathologically loyal to KOM, believing he will one day break the curse that remained after her father’s death and save her soul. She curses anyone who stands in KOM’s way. During the war against humanity, soldiers who saw her smiling blissfully at the thought of KOM came to fear her as “real Japanese horror.”
Wolfgang: An extraordinarily cunning werewolf and ruthless leader of the wolf clan who once drove the rival dog clan to the brink of annihilation. Despite his great pride, his instincts told him he could never defeat KOM, so he willingly entered his service. Hierarchy comes naturally to the wolf clan, and following someone stronger for the sake of the pack is no humiliation. His territorial instincts are so strong that he even marks his turf during important meetings, much to the annoyance of his subordinates.
