Aniplex announced that the highly anticipated Fate/EXTRA Record is set to launch Jan. 28, 2027 on Steam®, PlayStation®5, PlayStation®4, Nintendo Switch™ 2 and Nintendo Switch™, and revealed details of its editions. Fans can get a close-up look at Fate/EXTRA Record in a special program narrated by Atsushi Abe and Yui Ishikawa, voices of the Protagonist, premiering on the TYPE-MOON YouTube channel. Abe is known for Toma Kamijo in A Certain Magical Index, and Ishikawa for Mikasa Ackerman in Attack on Titan.

Originally released in 2010 as the first RPG in the Fate series, Fate/EXTRA has been completely recreated for modern platforms and includes entirely new content. Additional story content, redrawn character designs and a more strategic deck-building dramatic command battle system have been added, delivering a rich experience that’s familiar but fresh to longtime fans of the series.
In Fate/EXTRA Record, a super computer has been discovered on the moon, and the Holy Grail – an omnipotent wish-granting device created by the Moon Cell – grants the user any desire. A battle over ownership of a single Holy Grail – the Holy Grail War – begins at SE.RA.PH, a virtual world that has been constructed on the moon.
Vying for the Grail are 128 Masters, commanding servants who were heroes of human history, each guarding their own wish should they succeed, as they fight to survive and vanquish their enemies via deck-building command card battles. Players are thrust into the role as a Master, a second year high school student at Tsukumihara Academy suffering from amnesia.
Unable to recall who you are or what you are fighting for, you are accompanied by a single servant as you battle in a brutal fight to the death in a seven-round tournament. Harness a wide-range of weapons at your disposal, and string together unbeatable combinations in combat – including the Mystic Code that can aid greatly in battle. Uncover your enemy’s true name and unlock their weakness to defeat them and claim the Grail for your own.
