As per the subreddit r/NintendoIndia, Nintendo has announced an official hands-on experience event in Mumbai scheduled for Saturday, September 5, and Sunday, September 6, 2026. People who have registered on Nintendo’s site with the region selected as ‘India’ have received the email below.

The two-day showcase will take place at the courtyard of the R City Mall in Ghatkopar West from 12:00 PM to 10:00 PM. Admission is entirely free to the public.
Hands-On Experience, But No Sales
Indian gamers have historically relied on parallel imports and grey-market channels to buy hardware. While this event marks a massive milestone, Nintendo clarified that it is strictly an experiential showcase.
No consoles, physical games, or accessories will be sold at the venue. Instead, the focus remains entirely on community building and introducing first-party titles to a wider mainstream audience. Slots to play the demo stations will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis via on-site registration.
Star-Studded Lineup of Games
Attendees will get to test Nintendo’s flagship catalog across multiple booths. The confirmed lineup of playable titles includes:
- Super Mario Bros. Wonder
- Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
- Nintendo Switch Sports
- The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
Exclusive Merchandise and Giveaways
To sweeten the deal for local fans, Nintendo is offering exclusive, official merchandise. Visitors who try out the games and complete a short feedback survey can walk away with limited-edition items, including:
- Mario Sun Visors
- Mario Clear Files
- Collectible Mario Sticker Sheets
Dedicated Nintendo-themed photo spots will also be set up around the atrium for fans to take photos with iconic characters.
A Long-Awaited Market Entry
The event comes on the heels of the recent rollout of the Nintendo Today app in India, which sparked intense speculation among local gaming communities. Analysts view this Mumbai showcase as a strategic pilot test by the Kyoto-based gaming giant to gauge direct consumer interest, potentially paving the way for official regional pricing, localized digital storefronts, and structured retail distribution across India in the near future.
